IAP Buddy Privacy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This page explains how the IAP Buddy Mac app (formerly Pricing for App Store Connect) handles your data. IAP Buddy is made by Nuclear Cyborg Corp, and the Nuclear Cyborg Corp Privacy Policy is the governing policy for the app. This page describes how that policy applies to IAP Buddy specifically.
Your App Store Connect API key
IAP Buddy needs an App Store Connect API key to read and update your pricing. When you enter your Issuer ID, Key ID, and .p8 private key, IAP Buddy stores them in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. The app also remembers the file name of the key you imported and when it was last updated, in its preferences on your Mac.
The private key is used on your Mac to sign each request to Apple. It is not sent to Nuclear Cyborg Corp.
Your App Store Connect data
IAP Buddy connects directly from your Mac to Apple's App Store Connect API (api.appstoreconnect.apple.com) to fetch your apps, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and prices, and to save the price changes you make. That data goes between your Mac and Apple; it does not pass through Nuclear Cyborg Corp's servers.
IAP Buddy keeps a local history of the prices it has seen, in a database on your Mac, along with your display preferences such as search text, filters, and sort order. This data is not synced to iCloud.
To show app icons and whether each app is live on the App Store, IAP Buddy also looks up apps by their App Store ID using Apple's public App Store lookup service (itunes.apple.com).
The Nuclear Cyborg Corp Privacy Policy states that for developer apps such as this one, Nuclear Cyborg Corp does not collect, share, or use your financial data, such as app pricing, sales units, sales dollar volumes, or your app revenue.
Usage analytics
Release versions of IAP Buddy send anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to help us understand how the app is used and where it fails. These signals include:
- App launches, and which screens are opened and which buttons are used.
- Whether loading data from App Store Connect succeeded, how long it took, and the number of apps, live apps, in-app purchases, and subscriptions loaded. Names, product identifiers, and prices are not included.
- Error descriptions when something fails, such as validating your API key or loading data. These can include the error text returned by App Store Connect.
- Build details: the build date, the distribution type, and whether the build is a time-limited preview.
- Technical details that the TelemetryDeck SDK adds to each signal, such as the app version, macOS version, Mac model, language, region, and time zone, plus automatic session-start signals.
On a Mac, TelemetryDeck identifies an installation with a random identifier that it generates, and it hashes that identifier before sending. IAP Buddy does not add your name, email address, Apple ID, or API key to these signals.
Purchases
The Mac App Store version of IAP Buddy sells Full Access subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment; Nuclear Cyborg Corp does not receive your payment details. IAP Buddy uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, so RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription transaction information along with an anonymous app user identifier. The app also enables RevenueCat's collection of Apple's AdServices attribution token, which is used to attribute installs to Apple Search Ads campaigns.
The data categories Nuclear Cyborg Corp has declared for IAP Buddy (purchases, identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics, all not linked to your identity) are listed under App Privacy on the Mac App Store listing.
